Dual-channel CPM + EMG + EMS

The Sidra LEG rehabilitation robot enables fully active, bidirectional lower limb training, covering both flexion and extension phases while utilizing up to 4 independent EMG/EMS channels simultaneously. This allows for the precise replication of physiological movement patterns and the concurrent therapy of antagonistic muscle groups.

For each direction of movement, one triggering channel must be assigned, while the roles for the remaining channels are customized – either as EMG activity measurement or supportive electrical stimulation (EMS).

The video tutorial demonstrates an advanced protocol of alternating antagonist muscle work. In this setup, the patient’s intentional muscle contraction (EMG signal) initiates the robotic movement in a specific direction, and the system synchronously reinforces this contraction with an EMS pulse, while the opposing muscles are concurrently monitored for relaxation or co-activation.

The modularity of the system allows for flexible therapeutic programming. Depending on the patient’s specific needs, the configuration can be easily modified to implement multiple variations.
