CAM Turn Key

CAM Turn Key is an exercise in which the patient turns an extension called the Pinch meter, imitating the motion of turning a key in a lock. Upon reaching the end of the range of motion, the patient can either turn the extension in the opposite direction while maintaining the same principles or allow it to return automatically, depending on the selected setting.

Key Feature: Dual-Action Force Activation & Rotational Control

Unlike standard automated CPM modes, the CAM Turn Key program relies directly on the patient’s voluntary, coordinated effort to initiate and maintain the movement. To rotate the extension, the set thresholds for both pinch force and rotation force must be exceeded simultaneously.

Configuration Parameters:
  • Active Movement Direction: Defines the specific directional phase (e.g., clockwise or counter-clockwise rotation) where the patient’s active effort takes place.

  • Force Triggering Threshold: The preset force level, determined during calibration, that requires the patient to simultaneously squeeze and rotate the extension to initiate movement.

  • Maximum Speed: The strict upper speed limit of the extension’s rotation (measured in degrees per second) that the device will not allow the patient to exceed.

  • Range of Motion (ROM): The safe angular limits of the rotational movement, fully adjustable to adapt to the patient’s current functional capabilities.

  • Session Length: The total duration of the training session, defined by a specific target number of repetitions or time.
